    Medal ID help, please.

    Hello all:

Someone posted this medal on a british forum that I frequent - and he's looking for an i.d. I've checked Dave Danner's excellent site and the Schreiber book (the only sources I have at hand as Nimmergut is still in the mail!).

The scan is fairly poor, but I'm hoping someone can id it still. There is no sign of enamalling and around the bust of Wilhelm II, on the obverse, it says: "Wilhelm II Deutscher Kaiser". The reverse cartrouche has engraved, in sloping script in 4 lines: "Konig/Sch.G./Alt Berlin/4.7.1901". It is described as being 47mm wide by 70mm high.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer!

Christian (or anyone else that reads this): what does the "Alt Berlin" mean? Would that be the name of the shooting association or does the Alt stand for something? Also, what exactly does the Sch.G stand for? (sorry, my German is very poor). Finally, what is the King's connection to all this? Is that perhaps the name of the association? (The Koenig's Association?) or would this medal be issued in the name of the King?

        Sorry for pestering you guys...

          Geoff,

either the "alt" means something like "the old Berlin" or its an old district of Berlin(altough i couldnĀ“t find a match) and is probably not a part of the name.

          all the best,
          Gerd
