    "Minenwerfer" Booklet

Pictured here is a small (18 cm. x 11.5 cm.); well-used, 13-page military instruction booklet entitled: "Ausruestungsliste fuer den leichten Minenwerfer n/A."

    It is also marked:

    "Nur fuer den Dienstgebrauch bestimmt"
    "Berlin 1916"
    and
    "Gedruckt in der Reichsdruckeri".

One page showing accessories is also shown here.

I hope it is of interest to some WAF members.

This is interesting. The most well known Minenwerfer manuals were printed after the war in the 1920s. This is the first wartime one I have seen. If there is a key to the numbers on the accessories page, could you please post that too?

There was an accessories box that came with the MW. I believe it was a metal case that would have contained most of these items. A few of these same things were carried in the wooden box for the Granatenwerfer. It had an accessories list on a metal plate inside the lid.

Given the level of interest this little booklet has generated (I guess not many of them survived), I am posting additional scans here for additional information.

Thats great, they used to go in a little pocket inside the case if I am not mistaken.

Thanks for posting the additional information. I have seen pictures of Chris's example. Due to the condition of the piece, I am guessing it must have come out of an underground bunker or something like that.

                        Yup,

A number of decades ago from positions behind Hill 304,

unfortunately I can no longer post pics, but it is basically just as pictured in the booklet.

The positions must have been overrun in in late August 1917.

                        best
                        Chris
