Is Dr. Frank Wernitz someone well known within collecting circles?

Certainly looking forward to a new book but I will be a little disappointed if he DID actually give this 1813 EK2 the thumbs up as claimed by this site http://historische-staatsanleihen.de...hen-dokumente/

      So mine arrived today.

A couple of major errors (fakes) a few glaring oversights (e.g. no attempt at any sort of distinction between an 'A Type' 1870 EK1 core and an 'A1 type' core, attributing both these clearly different cores as simply 'Type A from the Berlin Foundry') a few... err... surprises (maker 'KO' listed as ''presumably Klein & Quenzer'') and a lot of ommisions (1914 EK1 hardware variants are few and far between) but I tell you what, this is an absolutely MAMMOTH effort and Dr Wernitz should be congratulated on putting together an informative and beautiful absolutely HUGE 2 book set which definitely does have some new revelations unearthed.

Despite a few inevitable disappointments, this is a book that any serious EK collector should own.

          Quick question
Is this the same Gent associated with the German Society for Military History?

No challenge from me on that K&Q thesis Sascha - as I said, I didn't consider it an error, but it certainly was a surprise. Not a theory I had heard before.

Honestly though, bang for buck, this is a must have book.

Got the book(s) today. Just had a first glance through them and two things crossed my mind:

                      1) it seems to be well worth the money
                      2) after reading them through, my German language skills for sure will be considerably better
