Imperial visor???

Just got this today,I have been very lucky with visors lately.This is in great shape almost flawless.

Now comes the coolest part of this visor.....

Note the makers label on the hat matches the box lid,

Does someone have any idea what this visor is??I'm thinking maybe some veterans visor?? I dont think it is military but i could be wrong

Off-hat (sorry for the pun!) this reminds me of a student fraternity cap, but then of course the cockade wouldn't belong. Lots of fraternities that were founded after 1871 adopted the Reichsfarben as their frat colours. Any chance the cockade could have been added at some later date?

Whatever it is, it's really beautiful in its case!

Eric, while I am not an expert on Imperial hats, I also think that it might be a Students hat. I have seem a few of them before and a number of photo postcards with them being worn. Interesting hat, but I don't believe it is a military hat. Mike
