    My first medalbar!

Well, this is my first medalbar. Not a very unusual combination of medals, but You've got to start somewhere. Now I have to buy a matching ribbonbar, but that wont be to hard.

Both medals have been sewed to the ribbons, the EK around the upper arm and the Honour Cross around the upper halves of the swords. I've seen medals that has been sewed on to the ribbons before, for protection from damage that is, but that was medals with enamel on them.

The backside of the medalbar is marked D.RGM (there might be a vauge dot between G and M, but I'm not sure). I know that DRGM is a marking for "Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchsmuster", but that it also can be a makers mark, "D.R.G.M. 653146", Paul Meybauer, Berlin. Although there are no numbers after the marking+ there are only one or two dots between the letters

What do You think, is the marking on the backside a marking for the manufacturer Paul Meybauer, or for Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchsmuster?

I have looked for makermarks on both medals but without luck. The ring on the EK is embedded to good in the ribbon, and an attempt to get the ring into daylight would only make harm. Same thing goes for the Honour Cross, the tread would have to be cut off if I want to take a closer look at the upper reverse of the medal. Any ideas of makers on the EK2 and the Honour Cross (the last one might be tricky)?

Any answers or thoughts are gladly welcomed!

    /Henrik

Congratulations on your first medal bar That is the same setup I started with, I now have sixteen medalbars. Yes you are right don't damage the bar to see who the maker is. There are many Honor Cross makers so it will almost impossible to tell by the front. Maybe one of the EK "gurus" Will be able to help with your cross. Regards Chris

      Chris,

thanks for your answer. Just got myself a job, so hopefully it wont be too long before I get myself another bar. Yep, I hope the EK "gurus" will take a look here to help me with the maker.

Taking this back to the top again. Isn't there anyone with the slightest idea of the EK's maker?

You're off to a good start. The crown's a pretty fair match for a KO or +M+. See if you can carefully spread the ribbon and turn the ring. You might be able to make a positive ID.

              Hi!
I use this thread to show you my first medalbar!

              Do you think it's original?

And is it okay that I've polished the Tapferkeitsmedallie with a silver polishing wad?
I think that this can't attack the medal but now it glitters as new!

              Regards,
              Huskarl

Hey, you've got to start somewhere... I've got medals and ribbon bars, but no medal bars.
