    EKII with frosting

    Hello,<o ="">

I have an EKII which looks as though it has had a jeweller’s repair. <o =""></o>

My question is about the beading and frame which appear to be slightly frosted. Has anyone come across this before on Imperial Iron Crosses and if so, do you have any idea when something like this may have taken place? I would imagine that the frosting was done at the same time as the repair.

For some reason I can't add a pic. I get the message below so if anyone knows what I should do please let me know.

<o =""></o>You have included too many images in your signature or in your previous post. Please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.

Christ knows where all those smilies came from, anyway I've deleted them now so let's hope the photo can be atached.

        The repair.

Does anyone recognise the maker by any chance?

        Thanks

          Here's something similar, Tony.

Some crosses came frosted, which is probably the case with yours. I have a couple unmarked and one marked R-W with frosted frames. From other details they seem to be from different periods, so I don't think it's useful in dating their manufacture.
