Blew it up on PhotoShop but is was not sharp; the photo, scan, or transmission? So there are probably useful details that can't be seen.

However, about a 100 men and no special weapons (MG, Minenwerfer, etc.) so the odds are that it was a chewed-up infantry company during the war. Too many for a Zug, not a full-strength Kompagnie. Seems to be a lot of visored caps, count them, if too many for NCOs and officers it would probably not be at the front, and EM could wear them.

Of course the above is just based on the odds re: the number of infantry companies, could really any sort of detachments.
