The oldest medal I own, Nassau 16 year Faithful service.

I've had my eye on this out-of-place medal at a local pawn shop for several months now, I finally went to buy it this weekend. The shop owner gave me a good deal since I spent the time researching and informing him about it.

Took some proper photos of it to replace the the ones in this thread. Tim Ericson has a replacement ribbon for it, but I don't have a checking account to pay the man. I'll have to bribe a family member!



Anyway, I'm excited to have this little relic. I'm afraid it will only feed my hunger for early imperial awards (well it's technically not imperial, is it?).

I throw around the award date and it doesn't seem like much, but when I really think about it is amazing how old this little bugger is. I just have to think about my country's history to put it in perspective, this was likely made well before the Civil War!
