Is this a late war piece? I've had this for 40 years

It looks to be period. It's one-piece, right? It reminds me of the strange type that is seen on page 168 of Previtera's book. The crowns look odd to me.

In any case, a very interesting example!

Eric I thought I had replied to your comments, sorry. It is a one piece, plated over copper/brass. Like I said I had it for over 40 years it was my first EK at that time EK's were so hard to find for a kid with a five buck a week allowance. I think I paid that much for it. I later bought a EK2 still in it's small envelope (tan) maker 25 (paid 15.00 for that one, still wish I had it) it was pristine and everyone thought it was too good to be real so I traded it off. But anyway everybody told me that this too was a fake and since I was partially convince it was I didn't think anyone would ever buy it so I kept it as a reminder of "caveat emptor".
