    Portrait ID?

    This may or may not be a tough identification:

    This officer obviously was a pilot in WW1 and earned the HHO w/swords. He flew with the Turkish Air Service, but I don't have a list of officers who served in Turkey, so that's no help. Later, as you can see, he was in the Luftwaffe as a Major, and may have been commander of the Venlo airfield in WW2. Here is the portrait:

        6 & 7 are very strange. I thought 6 might be Prussian Lifesaving, but couldn't account for it being out of sequence. 7 might be Turkish Mejidie order, which probably would have been awarded without swords in this case, but he might have added the swords. Another possibility for 7 is Bulgarian Order of Alexander.

        Also, it's possible 3 might be the Hessian Bravery Medal, and the pale blue color may just look white in the painting, but it's more likely Hamburg Hanseatic. Still, none of those awards give us much to go on.

        Hmmm..... I don't know if we can solve this one.
