Today I was lucky to find the big brother for my ribbon bar and Knopflochschnalle that I bought from Rick (Stogieman) quite a while ago...

Isn't it quite frustrating?

What is going on with all this stress to buy immediately without even the time to think about it? I mean this bar came out today for sale on Bretzendorfer's catalogue... gimme a break! It's already quite frustrating to decide in a fraction of a second during Detlev's update for items worth hundreds of dollars, not to say more...
A disappointed collector...
Ciao,
Claudio
P.S.: I know... I cannot always win... but sometimes it doesn't feel right!

Jawohl... das spüre ich noch "a deep pain"... in my heart. No really, you try to be "historically correct" and re-unite pieces that might have belonged together and the first "pistolero" draw faster than you and take it just out of your hands. That is not fair!
Next time I will be more lucky... hopefullyLast edited by Klaus O.; 08-17-2004, 02:01 PM.

Why not see if you can contact the new buyer, lay out your plan and reasoning. The new owner can only say no. I've done it in the past and sometimes you win a few. Worth a try.

Not fall over them all the time "common," thilly-- but not UNIQUE:
could find a Vizefeldwebel aD called back up for the war with a Saxon IX from the days before there were XII Medals, or a career NCO with a Saxon XV...
EK, Silver FAM and that WEIRD "nothing else we can give YOU guys" Saxon Honor Cross X is CLASSIC "I'm a Vizefeldwebel."
Actually, I'm rather surprised to see a Saxon XII, which would coer career service 1914-20, when Vizefeldwebel took six "real" years to get to that rank. So the missed bar guy must have joined in 1912 (1911 would have gotten him a "war double" XV in 1920) and got the SHCX in 1918....
whereas we will all keep an eye out for a match for you now, Claudio!Last edited by Rick Research; 08-17-2004, 07:12 PM.

I've often thought about medalbars and ribbon bars that belonged to members of my family. Wouldn't it be historically correct for all of you to search your collections and return them to me? No? Why not?
