    Crimean war items from bavaria

I recently picked these items up from the relative of the man who fought in the crimean war .these were carried and used by him as i was told by his relative . His name i will withhold for the moment but he was from bavaria and imigrated to the united states soon after the war approx 1857 to 1860 i think but can not confirm 100 % . . If anyone can help out with identifying the rifle and sword i would greatly appreciate it . It is tough so far to find info on these from the internet

                Hi John,

Nice set, the short sword is the

Does yours have numbers/regimental markings on the other side?

The rifle>? Any more markings that could help?

                Best regards,
                Michel

No one from Bavaria fought in the Crimean War - unless they fought with the British, French, Italians, Turkish or Russians - so I do not see the connection with Germany let alone Bavaria.

As far as the rifle is concerned it is 110% a civilian hunting or sport rifle.

                    .

I also thaught there were no Germans in crimean war, but after a short google I was surprised to find this:

Reguarding the rifle it appears to me that the trigger guard was either replaced or the original one was broken just ahead of the trigger loop. I would assume there would be at least two screws holding it on the stock. Looks like there was a screw hole between the two front teardrops. But that is just my thoughts on the rifle
