    Treffen des "Gruenen Korps"

    The old foto of camrads from "Gruenen Korps".
    I don't know anything about this Korps.
    Will be pleased for any information.

    Hello,


    The Green Corps was a reference to the so-called students who attacked the allied lines near Langemark, capturing the village, in 1914 while singing 'Deutschland über Alles". It was the XXVI. Reservekorps (51. & 52. Reservedivision) IIRC.

    Apart from the fact that most soldiers were not students but older reservists, they did not capture the village and they were not singing during the attack, everything is true...

    They had a green cross-badge, the Langemark-cross, as semi-official medal after the war.

    Please show some more pictures (especially if there are some of visits to Flanders)...
