    What do you think of this one, I think it's a good price for a original core.

      And why would 1870 unfinished die strikes of the GC exist. That's rhetorical, they wouldn't.

        GK's were used for flagpole tops, so it's quite conceivable that there were a lot made. I've seen these and other pole top elements from reputable dealers. The one piece I've had in hand, a lyre shaped frame of oak and laurel leaves, was unfinished and looked like it had been buried. It's quite possible that someone did some digging in a bombed out factory and came4 up with a hoard.
