Can anyone help him on this one?
I am interested to know because I have one with the hinge just like this one.
My pin is not brass but the hinge looks just the same.
I got mine at a little junk shop where it was the only item of militaria in the whole place which led me to think that it might be real.
At least they were not retailing aged Reddick Enterprise stuff like some little shops do.

The cross itself, the hinge and the catch are all genuine imo. Without better pics, too hard to say if the main pin is original to the cross or a (period) replacement. Also hard to say whether the 800 stamp is original or added later, not that I have anything against 800 markings in this unusual location - this 800 looks like it's in a large "depression" which would indicate it was added well after the cross was assembled.
