    PLM Stickpin

Please provide opinions on this PLM stickpin. I hope the photos are sufficient; I'm approaching the limits of my camera!

    Thanks & best regards,
    Steve

The case is probably originally for a tea spoon as the distinct depression in the base fabric would seem to indicate and while the jury is slightly out on this type of stickpin PLM, I personally have no hesitation advising you to pass on it.

Here's another in the same type of illfitting case....

PLM Stickpin - 2 More Photos

Thanks, Marshall. I believe you are right about the case (perhaps a vintage case but likely made for something else). Does anyone have any feedback on the stickpin itself? I've tried to get a better photo and have attached below.

        Best regards,
        Steve

Certainly it would be good for you to hear some other opinions Steve, but in the meantime I'll point you in the direction of a few existing threads. Unfortunately there will be no definitive answer for you on your particular stickpin nor indeed any of the various versions of this exact same mini PLM.

Here are some more examples of ths type http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...2&postcount=61

There are those who believe this specific type of 9mm mini, whether on a stickpin or with a suspension device (yes, they are found with both) to be an outright fake, offered on eBay in various forms on a reasonably frequent basis...

          http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/11...rite-9mm-mini/

.... through the other side of the spectrum to guys like Steve Previtera who actually has a version of one in his great book Prussian Blue.

          http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...hlight=9mm+PLM

Ultimately, you'll have to make your own mind up about it but I hope others will chime in with some feedback.

          Mine you already have.

            Mini PlM

            Marshall,

Thanks very much for providing the links; the previous discussions and photos were very enlightening. I had no idea there was such spirited debate concerning PlM minis of this type. I thought I was on solid ground given the example included in Prussian Blue, but - as you rightly suggest - I guess the jury is still out (& likely to stay out)!

Thanks again for bringing me up to speed on this topic.

            Best regards,
            Steve

That type of case are often found with 'Geschenknadeln'. High end Jeweller made needles, often with diamonds and other gemstones set in a Royal Cypher. Those Needles sells for pretty high amounts (500-3000€) and cases are not cheap either.

Never saw a 9mm PlM i believed in so far.
