    Prussian Officer's Frack Bar

    Hi guys,

I bought myself this birthday present while at the OVMS Wilmington Show over the weekend. I have a feeling that it will be identifiable, so I am going to start paging through the 1924 Ranklist in hopes that he will be listed there.

    Best regards,
    Tom

      Hi Tom,

You are good to yourself! That's a great frackspange.

Thank you for the comments, Pierce and Scott.

Interesting that the assembler didn't switch around the positions of the hinge and catch. If this pin ever came unhooked from the catch, the whole thing would go sliding off the civilian tuxedo and crash to the floor. Ouch!

            Best regards,
            Tom

              Thank you!

Obviously, the guy is still alive in 1934-1935, but probably out of the military by then.

              Best regards,

No problem. No matches so far, some close but always at least one other award that should be on there that isn't. The awards seem to mesh most closely with the Reichsheer Majors.

                    Hi Tom,

I hope you find a little bit about the owner. It is a beautiful Medal Bar. Thank you for sharing this one with us!

                    Thank you,
                    Scott

Tom - first of all, nice pick up. I enjoy these formal mountings. But I always find it humorous when we buy ourselves birthday and Christmas gifts. I do the same. My fiance and parents ask me what I want each year, and my response is always "money for collecting."

                          Hi Jason,

I tell my friends and family that I am size 17-1/2 in a 1939 Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.

                          Best regards,
                          Tom
