    Arthur Suchsland

    Hi Gunnar,

Do you know what aviation unit Arthur Suchsland served in during World War I? Any information you have on him will be most appreciated so I can correct my records.

    Thanks & best regards,
    Steve

      Hi Steve

I only have fragmentary info regarding Oblt "Arthur" Suchsland (O). It is possible that he was an younger brother to the more known Erich Suchsland...

The first known unit I have for him is FAA 274 where he stayed until 29.05.18 when he was posted to Flandern and AFP 4.
Around 09.06.18 he was posted to stab Grufl 3. Then on 18.08.18 he was posted further to AFP 18.

I also have an Lt Suchsland (O) who left FA 19 on 08.01.18 and was posted to Idflieg. In a worst case scenario we have a third Suchsland here..
But at moment I think that he was promoted Oblt in the spring of 1918..

        Hello Steve,

        You might try this link:
        http://www.frontflieger.de/0-navi.html
He has a lot of information on Imperial pilots.

I picked up this tea service years ago in Northen Germany at a flea market. It's marked ALPACCA, but has three different sizes of pilots badges on the three pieces. It was a challenge putting it in my ruck to insure it didn't get damaged on the flight back!!

Thanks Ferg. I guess I have my old EK blinders on again, where 925 is not often encountered.

                    More fantastic items..

Regarding the plate, have all eleven signatures been identfied..?
If not, me and others can probably help to solve that.
