    1914 EKII - Repainted?

    Hello all.

I recently purchased this 1914 EKII from the estand.

I would like opinions on it being a 'repaint'.

    Many thanks,

    Matt

          Hello guys,

the cross is mine, I didn't know its repainted, I posted it to the forum earlier and no one mentioned it. I will of course pay the money back.

Of course, these mistakes happen all the time

Repaints or touch ups can be very hard to see sometimes, except in very specific lighting or at a very specific angle.

Hi Don - that was actually my first thought. The 'black' is actually a blue-black colour and looks like a marker pen of some kind.

It was actually very hard to see. The only reason I noticed it was I took it out of the envelope in sunlight and you could see the light reflecting differently off the two different blacks on the frame. Under artificial light it is actually hard to notice (and it was hard to photograph except on an angle with bright light).

I have no hard feelings towards Hans - as Trevor said these mistakes do happen

              Thanks for the opinions everyone!

I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago. Got a mint Schinkel 1939 EK1 and as soon as I got it into daylight I could tell.......
