        Hi Paul,

With regard to the awards here is what I can see.

        1:

        -Kärntner (Carinthian) Cross for bravery

        2:

        -Signum Laudis Medal in Bronze

        3:

-Bronze Military Merit Cross? (may be 2 awards written on the one line)
        -Silver Bravery Medal 2nd Class
        -Bronze Bravery Medal
        -Karl Troop Cross

        Kind regards

For #1, it is the Karl-Truppen-Kreuz and the Carinthian Cross

For #2, the Signum Laudis is with War Decoration (K.D.) and swords. I assume by KD they meant on the ribbon of the Military Merit Cross, since there wasn't a separate war decoration for the Signum Laudis.

For #3, the first line is the Bronze Military Merit Medal (Signum Laudis) on the ribbon of the Military Merit Cross with Swords (same as #2).

            The units are:
            1. Infanterieregiment „Albert I. König der Belgier“ Nr. 27
            2. Landwehr-Infanterieregiment Wien Nr. 1 & Landwehr-Infanterieregiment Kremsier Nr. 25
            3. Schützen-Regiment Nr. 1 (this was the former Landwehr-Infanterieregiment Wien Nr. 1, which like other k.k. Landwehr Infanterie-Regimenter was renamed in April 1917).

I suppose IR 27 might have changed its name after 1914, when Austria-Hungary went to war with Belgium, but I'm not sure.

May be he was a member of the "Leobener Studentenbataillon" 1919.

There was a so called Montanuniversity in Leoben. Some of the student fought in the fight Carintiha / Slowenia 1919. It seems he was a member of such a Austrian students unit.

Veterans of the Leoben Studenten-Bataillon 1919 at the parade during a ceremony to referendum in Klagenfurt in 1960.

Most of them are holder of the Carinthian cross. Some also the Spcial Carinthian Cross for bravery.
