Hamburg Hanseatic Cross - some questions

I do not collect Imperial items but simply wanted one of these due to its sheer beauty as an award. So I will admit that it was a little bit of a blind purchase. The general quality of the award had me comfortable enough to buy it. I cant see enamel being faked like this for the cost. Also I know that the cases are not that easy to find.

Now my questions.

1. The detail on the centre medallion is a little soft, so in hindsight I want to confirm that this could in fact occur in originals.
2. The case differs from those I can find online as this is rectangular vs those being square. I did read in some of the threads here that a large and a small case did exist but was unable to find any photos. I also found photos of cases like these on seller sites but don't easily consider seller sites as reference.

Think it is the absolute genius use of enamel on these that just kept me looking, looking till I finally had to get one. Gotta be careful as these weaknesses often lead to new collecting areas
