    An interesting find. What village/town is nearest to where it was found?

      Fantastic IMO. This sort of ties in to my questions in the thread below regarding what forms (materials) of clique type badges were actually wartime and what types were post war (WWI) and or both.

      One thing that I know to my satisfaction is that this type of Juncker badge was certainly worn wartime.....maybe even the most worn wartime version based on the believable attribution of badges that I have seen over the years.

          It could be LtdR Emil Kiel from Jasta 63.
          I have another Kiel without first name at Jasta 39 but he was Vizefeldwebel not officer.

          Regards

          Alex

              LtdR = Leutnant der Reserve

              LtdR Emil Kiel was at Jasta 63 from April to Nov 1918. I don't have any infos where he was before.

              Regards

              Alex

                      I can't find any German Air Service casualties to a "Kiel" that match this inscription.

                      The clasp is broken, maybe Lt. Kiel lost his badge while flying overhead?
