    Hello
I've had a few pr of these over the years, I used to put them on W1 mannequins but their not M1866 pattern imo.
My best guess they some sort of private purchase or interwar boot. Hopefully other Gents will have more info.

      Hi,
thanks for the reply. I found a picture on wikipedia http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marschstiefel where imo the same boots are in the picture up on the right. here are some better shots of the boots. <div align="center"><p><img src="http://cdn02.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/1/11c99ed7d9587f7a44f2233d81b5405b4.jpg" /></p><p><img src="http://cdn02.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/1/15878a6fa0c5b04c53219ff3b756caef0.jpg" /></p><p><img src="http://cdn02.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/4/476b91b1fd375ce467ce4c330e20d8b2a.jpg" /></p><p><img src="http://cdn02.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/5/544da123bc1086d9928d2bf022a1c4419.jpg" /></p><p><img src="http://cdn02.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/3/3064543c1e33a76a3cd1f709575d72d13.jpg" /></p></div>skalp

        Scalphunter,

Actually, if you look more closely at the Wiki page your referenced, the boots in the upper right hand corner are different than your boots. The front section of your boot is made from one piece of leather, all the way up the front. The WWI boot has a front section (toe to ankle) that is one piece, but it ends at the ankle with a "tongue" that attaches to another piece of leather that makes up the upper shaft in the front. I agree with Hoss that your boots are not typical WWI issue marching boots.

        Best regards,
        Chip
