    How would you translate...?

    How should one translate the phrase "Allgemeines Deinstordnung"? I would translate it as "general service classifications" or "general ranklist? Bin ich richtig?

    p.s. As in "Allgemeines Deistordnung der NASDAP Sturm Abteilung": Munchen, 1934 (and annually up to 1941).

    I take it that you are referring to "Allgemeine Dienstordnung ..." and based on that understanding (never having seen the book) I would translate it as
    "General Service Regulations".

      Well, I am disappointed, but I was in the Library yesterday (xeroxing The Volkische Beobachter) and looked in their original materials-my heartlept as I thought I'd found a new ranklist!
