Navy Cap Tallies

Hi, Can anyone provide some pointers to help me distinguish original Kaiserliche Marine ship cap tallies from the repros? Any information will be appreciated as I'm a beginner when it comes to these items.

I wasn't aware of them making repro's of the Imperial cap ribbons.

There is a great piece above in the KM uniform section on cap ribbons. While many of the robbons are KM, they also have a fair number of Reichsmarine and some Imperial.
I had some Imperial but then went over to only KM. The only one I have left came with a grouping from one man.

Thanks, Kondor. The number of battlecruiser cap tallies available on the market - especially in silver - makes me suspicious. These ships (Von Der Tann; Moltke; Goeben; Seydlitz; Derfflinger; Luetzow; Hindenburg) generate the most interest among WWI naval enthusiasts and collectors; so where there is demand I suspect the fakers are providing supply! I'll check out the thread you recommend in the KM section.
