Can anyone help me identify this Rotes Kreuz/Red Cross badge please?

Here is the seller's description in German:

Sehr seltene Medaille mit Abbildung einer sauber plastisch herausgearbeiteten Danziger Kogge, darunter emailliertes Rotes Kreuz. Durchmesser ca. 25 mm, mit Anstecknadel. Die Medaille wiegt 7,5 Gramm, für die Größe also verhältnismäßig schwer. Möglicherweise Silber, jedenfalls antimagnetisch.

And my rough translation:

Very rare medal with an image of Danziger "Kogge", and enameled Red Cross. Diameter 25 mm, with pin. The medal weighs 7.5 grams -- heavy for its size. Probably silver -- at any rate, non-magnetic.

1. What is it?
2. What is a "Kogge"? Some kind of ship?
3. When was it made or awarded?
4. What for?
