Is there a known maker for this TWM "Gallipoli Star"?

Seems to be some very knowledgable TWM collectors here. Can anybody say who made this one?

Anyody? My guess is C F Zimmermann, are they a known maker?

They probably made TWMs (they produced anything you could make money from in WW1 and post-WW era!) and they did use a "SILBER" mark, but I have no idea if this type is theirs.

Are you saying Zimmermann because of the notch at the top of the pin which is also seen on the pumpkin EK1s?

Not only the notch Rich. Trying to establish which maker used that exakt 'Silber' mark, catch, hinge and needle. To me it's CFZ but if anyone can match that TWM to a maker it would be very useful.

You could well be on to something there. I don't have an EK1 marked 'silber' so I can't add anything. I'm sure there are plenty of examples among us to get some comparisons.

Not after Silber marked EK's Rich, there's plenty of those and none are maker marked. Looking for a known maker to that TWM.

Hi,

It looks alike one of the medals (The Turkish War Medal page 89 figure 6) that is shown in my book. Although the pin is thinner. It is also silver (written on the pin) and the enamel pattern looks also same. Even the end of the arm of the tugra was cut same. When you check the Austrian ones in the book they also have the same enamel pattern. So it may be Austrian made.

On the other hand, I can not say anything about the maker,
but again IMHO the known makers made it sure that the medals have their names on them and the enamel pattern does not look alike any maker that I know.

Thanks Demir, which Austrian makers made the TWM's?

In general Austrian makers marked their silver items with Austrian goverment regulated Silver marks like the 'Diana' and 'Dogs head'. The '900' and 'Silber' mark suggests a German maker imo.

Pic of TWM mark is not really good enough but the mark from 1914 EKI Prinz is not the same as on the post war Godet imo. The TWM hardware matches the Prinz in all aspects.

2 marks on the right is the same, just diff pics to show how the same mark can differ from pic to pic.
