      Greetings All,

      I just started picking up Wurttemberg medals and saw one of these one ebay just the other day. It was a "Buy it now" and I missed it.

      This is a beautiful cross. Thanks for sharing it .

            I believe issue ones were made at the Stuttgart mint but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Of course there would be other makers as well, especially Hof-jewellers etc.....

              my contribution: a soldier who was recalled in the Second World War and has his cross period mounted on the wrong ribbon. I love the stitched backing so often found on Wurt and Bavarian bars

                nice bars
                i researched any informations.
                maker was "die stuttgarter münze"
                from 1915-1918 they produced 7353
                crosses.
                in 1915/16 -> 699
                in 1916/17 -> 1766
                in 1917/18 -> 4044
                in 1818/19 -> 874

                in ww1 5318 awardments are verifyed.

                regards kai

                  by the way your first 4 place medalbar and the 2 place medalbar,
                  both are for noncombat in my opinion no matter the cross has the swords
