Bavarian Militär-Sanitätsorden medal-bar to heroic Doctor!!!

Here is another wonderful and absolutely rare medal-bar from a collector I know. He has got the medal-bar, mini-chain and Soldbuch of Dr. Alois Kustermann, who was a doctor in WWI.

    His fantastic medal-bar consists of:

    Militär-Sanitätsorden 2. Klasse (only 163 awarded!!!!!!)
    MVO 4. Klasse w/crown/swords (only 3000 awarded!)
    EK II 1914
    Hindenburg cross
    Luitpold-Medal
Long Service or Landwehr Dec. for 25 years ????

    Personal record

    Soldbuch

Sorry, I haven't more pics of this grouping from my friend. I can ask him to make more pics of other "elite-bars" he has got.

He has got some really fantastic medal-bars in his collection, for example the bar to Bruckner with the two bravery medals.

        Hi Majorpayne,

do You know, how long this Doctor lived?

The sloppy sewn-on Militärsanitätsorden looks like it was removed and later again sewn on the bar. After WW2 some of the old kings and princes allowed to wear some awards as neck-cross. (Bavaria / Saxony .....) So it might be that this Doc has worn his MSO on the Neck and after his death it was again sewn on the bar.

        Best greetings

        Daniel

          Hi,

sorry, I don't know. They wore them as neck-cross? Interesting, I didn't knew that.

          Greetings

Somebody here with a picture of a Militär-Sanitätsorden 1st class? Only 11 of them were awarded.

I wish this medal-bar would be in my collection *sigh*
