    5 medal bar...opinions please

Recently came across this imperial 5 medal bar. I believe the medals to be original, but was wondering if the order was correct.

I believe they are the EK2,Bavarian merit cross 3rd class, Prussian war aid cross, Hindenburg cross with swords and officers long service cross.

I apologize for the quality of the pic, it's all I have.

    Thank you,

The photo quality is bad, but that last one appears to be the Landwehr-Dienstauszeichnung 1.Klasse. That doesn't fit with the Bavarian MVK 3rd Class, which was for junior enlisted men.

Two possibilities: (1) a Bavarian MVO was removed and replaced with the MVK, or (2) someone de-Nazified the bar by removing a Treuedienst-Ehrenzeichen or something similar.

      Dave,
      Thanks for the reply.

Yes you are right it is a Landwehr-Dienstauszeichnung 1.Klasse...I remember the roman numeral 'XX' on the back.

Third possibility I don't want to exclude: It could be a modern fake bar, put together by someone who wasn't aware of possible combinations. This is none.

          no possible combo.

          for example:

remove the bavarian military merit cross 3 class with X

and add an mvo 4.th class with swords....

Or remove the Landwehr-Dienstauszeichnung 1.Klasse and replace it with the 3d class or the 25 year cross for civil servants. If the bar is real there in almost no way to know what has been monkeyed with unless you examine the construction very closely.

Thank you for the replies gentlemen.

The back was of a green/felt materiel with green threading that was clean and had no wear spots, didn't add up with the age and look of the medal ribbons.

again, thank you for your help.
