    EK1 Silber

This one arrived yesterday, took me a few years to find it but thanks to another member... Just one more variation of the Silber mark to find and I hope I'm done

This is the small silber stamp, type 2 core.

Chris, wow! That is a good looking cross. The core especially, just seems so clean, evenly painted, pristine (too many adjectives are going through my head right now hahah)!

I don't think I have ever seen this cross type before but it's a pleasure with you sharing it here.

Thanks guys, I was lucky to finally find one of these.

Ryan, the cores on this type are blued, like firearms, and some are possibly chemically blackened in conjunction with the process, some are also painted. The blued/blackened types are often nice and smooth if they don't have any rust spots and it seems that the surface black color simply wears off leaving the blue finish. That's my theory anyway

Please tell me some fine gentlemen are putting together an Imperial Ek I or II book of some sort? That would be great!

Well, that certainly is a fine beauty, Chris...the nicest EK1 Silber I've ever seen.

Just goes to show that persistence pays off in the end. Congrats!

                              Best,
