    Great pictures.

Damn! Those old studio cameras had a quality that just cannot be duplicated.

Thanks for sharing them with us.

I agree, I made some high resolution scans of the photos and the detail is just incredible

          Hi Alex,
the two pictures from Darmstadt (with Litzen) could be Einjährig-Freiwillige from the
          Leibgarde-Infanterie-Regiment (1. Großherzoglich Hessisches) Nr.115 http://wiki-de.genealogy.net/IR_115
I can't read the other numbers on the shoulderboards. Best regards,
          Jens

              Hello Gerdan,

thank you very much for decipher the writing, it is much appreciated

Metz, that sounds like a winner, it goes along with the writing on the back on at least one of the cards "s./l. (seinem lieben) Fritz z.(ur) freundl.(ichen) Erinnerung an seine einj.(ährige) Dienstzeit

              von seinem Kameraden Karl Gärtner"

The photo ob the bottom left. His boards show the number "10".
The photo on the upper right it hard/impossible to read...but it looks like a "75".

                Hi Alex,
with the "10" it's maybe Niedersächsisches Fußartillerie-Regiment Nr.10 from Straßburg!?
                with the "75" it's maybe Infanterie-Regiment Bremen (1. Hanseatisches) Nr.75 from Bremen !?
The first one, I don't know (but Infanterie or Fussartillerie, I think Infanterie before 1897 - just with one Kokarde on the cap).
                Best regards,
                Jens
