Hello all, I ask your help because I need to identify these medal I have just found. It belonged to my great-great-great-grandfather and I know he was german consul.
On one side it says: "Den 18 October 1861"
On the other: "Gott mit uns"

THis award is the Prussian crown order 4 e Class ,it seems in really good shape => but as i recal correct this award can be counted as one of the mass awards towards loyal serviceman ( civil ) , i can not really add much more info but do not worry others wil jump in

The ribbon was pale blue. This class was given to Leutnant through Hauptmann and anyone of the same civilian status.
