    Hansen EK1 screw-back

I had my eye on this one. But alas, bidding reached a level well beyond what I could afford. Winning bid, more than $680!

It's amazing what the harder to find EKs are going for these days.
In the last 10 years the price of the average EK has doubled.

High, but they've sold on dealers sites for a lot more and in worst condition.
we may see it surface again with an added 300 euros, stay tuned

Right, making Imperial EKs a pretty good investment if you ask me. And let's not forget that 2014 is just around the corner. I'd expect that prices should peak with the 100 year anniversary of the start of WWI.

Interesting point EK. :: I really hope that you are correct!!!

The question is other than use die hards is the consumer base for these items shrinking??? I believe there is a thead on here about this topic. For instance the Model T Ford has gone down in price quite drastically because there is a lack of emotional interest. We just had the 150 year anniversary of the Civil War and Union items are waning in value as well. WWII items still have interest because many of our father , grandfathers might have been involved. I am surprised that Third Reich Panzer Attack badges have gone down in value greatly from a few years ago. As that interest wanes over a few generations do you feel WWI (Imperial) items will be still hold value?

I don't know the answer to the above but I often wonder about the value of my collection in the future.
