Ribbon Bars: something you don't see often

I must say that I have been going through all of my books and notice that they aren't many pictures on Germans before or during WWI wearing long ribbon bars.

I mainly see long bars on WWII generals.

I know there must be 100s of officers who had 8+ place bars and wore them.

Will some of you share your pictures of officers wearing their ribbon bars?
All time periods welcome. I may need to start collecting period photos.

Ahhhhhhhh, you will be very happy when the Ribbon Bar Article is posted on the Association Members Only side.

So many reference benefits for paying a mere twenty bucks annual dues....

            Ah! Aces! That's cheating--using "celebrities!"

Actually, Frickart only has a FOUR ribbon bar--he's wearing three full size Austrian ribbons after his 25mm EK2.

            Sometimes even Generals...

That is what I mean. Most photos of Field grade officers and generals are of men not wearing their ribbon bars.

What about Austrian officers wearing ribbon bars? Anyone have pictures of that?

I'd like to learn a bit more about the ribbon bars of the Austrians and the method of attaching to the uniform.

                            Hi Charles,
the Austrian War Ribbon is a little bit tricky, because it was used for a lot of different decorations. Normally You can not be sure everytime, what it is. We had some threads about the Austrians some time ago. Type "Austrian" in the search- modus and You will find something.

                            Best regards

                            Daniel
