Should be the colonial elephant medal on his breast.



The photo is a bit blurry in this area.



I wonder who is on the little framed photo in the background.

That appears to be Franz Ritter von Epp, the Reichsstatthalter für Bayern.

I can't make out the ribbon bar, but the middle ribbon looks more like Baden than Bavaria.

I don't think so, I can't imagine Ritter von Epp with such a modest ribbon bar and above all without PLM on that day.

Sorry, there was a misunderstanding, I was a bit quick, you meant for sure the picture on the wall, that I did not notice at once...
