    Unidentified "thing" on a scrap of white-black EK ribbon



    ...any idea what this is?

    This is the insignia for prussian military officials (Beamte) which was worn on the shoulder and banjo boards, along with the peculiar rose-shaped pips to distinguish ranking. There are similar insignia for reich,bavarian,saxon,wurttemburg,baden,hessen and mecklenburg officials.

      Is there any "normal" reason why it would be on this ribbon?
