Need Assistance on Beaune La Rolande Gefechtspange

Gentlemen,

Having learned the hard way in the past, I am going to err on the safe side this time and run this past you guys before jumping on this one.

Is this Beaune La Rolande clasp one of the accepted original variations?


It appears that the same type is on the Ehrenzeichen-Orden.de page, but I wanted to hear your opinions just to make sure.

This is on a bar, so the back is not viable. I am fairly certain that it doesn't have the prong set-up though. I'll just go ahead and post the whole thing.

I'm pretty familiar with this particular Le Mans clasp; I'm confidant that that at least is a good one.

The BEAUNE LA ROLANDE is a modern fake and there are no contemporary clasps with this kind of letters. They are sold most by a guy from northwest germany and appear with different kinds of patina.
LE MANS looks good and original, there were holes drilled for the prongs. But BEAUNE LA ROLANDE was added later and is fixed only to the ribbon.

Markus is 100% correct. The "Beaune La Rolande" bar is a modern forgery. The medal, mounting, and "Le Mans" bar are original. It is a shame that some idiot ruined a perfectly good item by adding a forged piece to the mounting so that they could sell it to make more money!

Someone should tell Ehrenzeichen-Orden.de that at least a couple of the examples they have for the Gefechtspangen are fakes.
