    EK1 800 is Meyer?

    Hello all,

I was reading the following thread:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=556765

and if I understand it correctly, the cross I am posting has been identified as the maker B.H.Meyer?

    Could that be confirmed?

    Thanks
    Rich

What is the mark under the pin?

The core style is very similar to the B.H.Mayers shown in our
database but the dates are different (different "4"s) It also
does not have the die flaw on the frame that we seen on
many Mayers. That brings up other questions. Did Mayer
    use different cores, different frames?

The only marking on it that I can see is the '800' which is obscured by the pin.

        Thanks,
I could see a mark but couldn't tell what it was.

This cross looks like my blue core here http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...=546184&page=2

Nice cross BTW Even the 800 mark is in the same spot.

OK, I've missed something. Could someone please point me in the direction to where these blue-cored variations are IDd as Mayers?

Here is an image from the link provided that Trevor claims (in the link provided
              post #7) to be a B.H.Mayer cross----

Similar cores--BUT not identical. The "14"s are noticeably different.
Also the frame has the "Long bead" found (26) marked crosses.

OK, thanks Greg. I think I get the logic now - using a TR period L/ Imperial to work back. Aside from the differing dates, imo the crowns are not the same either and the frames will probably differ because the post-41 examples will be 44mm, not the smaller imperial size.
