    Rarest variation?

Which is rarest? Pillow back, fangs or mouse trap?

    #2
Of the 3 you mention, KMST "mouse trap" wins hands down.

The KMST "mousetrap" (different then the slide back) is a rare cross.
But so is the AWS pillowback, screwback with double screw posts and
cruciform style backplate. -- Plus if we are talking rare, we have to add
the co called "black onyx" crosses.

The rarest one is always the one that you do not have.

For me, if Greg would sell me that double post AWS screw back, I could sure sleep better at night.

What about the J.H. Werner marked screwback?

                    Steve,
I agree! I can easily say that I see a lot more of the KMST varieties occasionally come up for sale than any variety of J.H. Werner. I can't remember the last time I saw a J.H. Werner for sale.

I have a pinback version, which is tough to find and I know of two or maybe three collectors who have or have had a screwback version. I was offered one once but I couldn't afford it. The collectors that did have them have very extensive collections.

The last and only time I saw one was on ebay a few months ago and went for more than a KMST.

What about the type with back plate and 4 screw posts. How many of those do you ever see ???
