    wide frame 1870 EK2

    Hi Guys,
Last week in the debate over 1870 EKs, I posted a picture off of e-bay of
what I thought was a ww2 era 1870 EK2. I beleive Tony said it might be
    a early wide frame 1870 EK2.

I can post the dimensions and weight if you think I should or I can pm them???

Here are some better scans of that cross. Please let me know what you
    think.

Nice IC, Greg . The wide frame version is much rarer than the other one. Congrats!

                best,

It sounds like you bought this Greg? The wide frame had me scratching my head, but the crowns and details are great, and the date looks like the "other" "flat 8" pattern which is the one I bought. You have some highly repectable "thumbs up" in the previous replies. Way to go!

                    Tony,

You'll see the same type of EK posted as #72 and 73 in the "Repost your '70 EK2s to see how many types." thread that was just kicked back up for comparison. Greg got himself a damn fine EK that can be easily re-ringed. It deserves to be made whole again.

                        Nice piece!

About the ring--do you think that it can be (verrrrry slowly and gently) bent back into position and realigned with the tab?

That way you can keep everything intact and not mess up the tarnish.

I like it Greg. Funny, when I first looked at the inner core I thought I was looking at a Juncker Knight's Cross.

                              Thanks Brian,
I did notice the cross hatch beading but did not make the link to Junckers.
