I can't believe that people will drop this kind of cash on a re-painted helmet with a fake liner to boot...

What's really scary....

... is that on any given day on eBay, you can watch people shelling out large dollars, over and over, for obvious re-painted camo shells. It's pathetic. If even a tenth of the camo shells out there were legit, the Germans might have won the war.

Very scary indeed. At first glance the paint job isn't the worst re-paint I've seen on there, however, that wretched liner should raise "red flags" for even a novice helmet buff, I should think!

I'm just glad that I have the helmet experts around here to guide me should I ever choose to purchase helmets again (they were my first collecting passion!)

I believe the liner is Spanish. I bought one very similiar 20 years ago (not painted) that advertised it as "recently found in a Spanish warehouse". I paid $29 or so.
