Prussian Commemorative Cross for 1866 with ‘Treuen Kriegern’ inscription

Really unique tiny medal I found this evening while looking through some stuff..

I do not believe this is WWI. It might be earlier but yet it is a "Miniature"

It measures only 15mm across. Here is a description since it is hard to read on the photos... if anyone has any information if they think this is real, when it was made or value I would appreciate it.. Thank you, Scott

Bronze cross pattée alisée, a laurel wreath between the arms, with ribbed loop for ribbon suspension; the face with a circular central medallion bearing the cipher ‘WR’ for King Wilhelm I, circumscribed ‘PREUSSENS SIEGREICHEM HEERE’ (Prussia’s victorious armies), the Prussian crown on the upper arm of the cross, the left, right and lower arms inscribed ‘GOTT WAR MIT UNS. IHM SEI DIE EHRE’ (God was with us. To Him be the glory); the reverse with a circular central medallion bearing the crowned Prussian royal eagle perched on a cannon, the upper, left, right and lower arms inscribed ‘TREUEN’, KRIE-’, ‘GERN’, ‘1866’ respectively; slight age oxidisation marks; on replaced correct ribbon. The medal was instituted by King Wilhelm I on 20 September 1866 following the victorious war against Austria and its German allies.

          I am guessing from 1871-1914.

We don't really start seeing many minis untill 1871 or so. Most of
the "early" minis I have seen have been in combination with a 1870
service cross or 1870 Ek. In the late 1800s there was a real surge
in national pride. A lot centered around the 1895 Jubilee. I believe
that most of the miniatures and patriotic pieces we see come from
          about this time.

Thank you for the comments Greg.. amazing stuff.. I didnt realize the little minis I have could be that old.. My gosh.. I see them in a whole new light now

I tried to look up the 1895 Jubilee. What was this exactly?

            Thank you, Scott

In short, it was the 25th anniversary of the Franco-Prussian War.
That is the reason we have the "25" oak leaf attachment for the
              Iron cross.

Thanks for showing this nice award-type piece. Actually the original ribbons are what's really rare about these. Is the ribbon an original silk type?
                    Best regards,
                    Streptile
