This fake has been around for a while now, and it is evolving -- constantly improving.

Originally, EKs with this frame were sold as high-end repros on this website. Then, it seems, the manufacturer started to change up the cores and hardware in an ambitious effort to make a perfect fake.

Here are some more with this frame:

The one shown in this thread is the next generation. It has a few problems that reveal it as a fake (I won't list them here, since it's a good thing that this maker is still making these kinds of errors). It would be nice if the person making these just stopped.

This one looks too new for me, but with some weathering it could be far more convincing. The crown looks a bit blurry and lacks detail, but the picture is not good enough to determine that. I noticed something else - there's a "rib" on upper arm of 4 - could be this a dye flaw or just sloppy painting? I encircled that spot on the picture.

I think this is the same fake (but I'm not sure), recently on a Belgian sale site:

It would be interesting to explain why a piece is false. So who is willing to learn will have more base.

They want to imitate the Godet/ Meybayer core. Compare it to these and you'll notice small differences (or quite big, just how you look at it). Also the needle is a giveaway.

The needle in the first one posted is really good looking... So that's way its getting dangerous.

                  Best regards,
                  Michel
