    Hi Guys,
When You see the front of this ribbon bar it looks quite o.k.,….Or?? All ribbons old and stained, all swords match.

But a first look at the back and we just discovered a new Variant of the Ohio fraud. Untypical this bar has no backing material, so we can see every detail. In general disturbes the brand new thread to sew the ribbons. It is a really shining blue and obviously new material.

But what is new we see here. Under the Livesaving ribbon we see a hand-drilled hole. May it be that Ohio is already using unsold bars to re-arrange it or do we have a new faker using just Ohio parts?

Something involving leeches, I think. And heavy asphalt paving equipment.

In that part of the Infernal Regions that Dante forgot to mention-- where these people should go.

The nice thing about the Ohio ribbon bars is that they're generally so long that if you were to use one as a torture implement, you really could inflict some serious damage.

I do not think this one is from here (Ohio). Not at all what I am used to seeing at the local get togethers. I have found a dealer that is associated with the fraud maker and he keeps me informed without knowing it. I have noticed a rather large number of Japanese ribbon bars lately. They range from 2 to 4 place in length. I was thinking maybe he had changed fields for a while. Shows are slowing down for the summer but if I see anything like this I will let you know.

I have seen these <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State><ST1lace>Ohio</ST1lace></st1:State> specials as small as two ribbons wide, so length is not a good indication of originality, thanks to Rick and the other ribbon bar regulars here we have the information to spot these a mile away. <O</O

Thank You guys for Your comments.

I think slowly we have a guy here just using a Ohio metal backing. The ribbons all appear old and original, there are no obvious mistakes, there are no nonsense 3rd reich stuff. So keep in mind always to look at the back of a bar as good as the obverse will look like.

                        Best regards

                        Daniel
