Hello to all,

I couldn't pass this up when I saw it in the jewelry case of a local thrift store. It's not every day that you see a piece of costume jewelry fashioned after an Imperial German Order.

My wife likes it, so it was well-worth the $2.50 I paid.

I hope to someday find an original Imperial Order mixed in with the costume jewelry so I will keep checking the thrift stores.

This piece is very versatile: It has a brooch pin on the back and it also has a loop for a chain in case you prefer to wear it as a necklace.

I didn't realize initially how closely this thing resembles the Order of the White Falcon from Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach. That can't be an accident.

I once found an enameled Japanese order of the golden kite (4th or 5th class) in a costume jewelry case for a whole $17.50.

I never find anything like that at our junk stores, and I'm always lookingI did find a very nice scale model of a GD King Tiger for 4.00 the other day, though.
