I have seen other examples of this late "lobster tail" with the same green visor, does anyone know why?

You're right.
Thinking back, all my uniform caps have always had green-lined peaks, no matter what the maker.
Sort of like how painting the inside of a cell sweetie-pink is supposed to calm down the prisoners.
