An AH Soldier's Medals

A nice group to a repeatedly brave soldier.
The ribbons are reversed on the Karl-Truppenkreuz and the Silver Bravery Medal.
The only question I have is this: the documents show award dates after April 1917, but the bravery medals themselves are Emperor Franz Josef examples, not the Emperor Karl type. Franz Josef died in December 1916 and Austro-Hungarian medals with the new emperor on the obverse were introduced, it is my understanding, in April 1917.
Any Austro-Hungarian experts have any knowledge or opinions on this? Did units just continue to use older stocks of medals with Franz Josef on them until they ran out?
