Any Saxon Experts out there ?

    Help!

This beuty arrived in my mailbox yesterday, bought from an internet auction in Sweden. "Carl Alexander Grossherzog von Sachsen" marked 990 for silver
But what medal is it ?
I am scanning through Nimmergut catalogue but they only show the front and not even that in many cases.
Now I hope for an Saxon collector who recognises this ?

    All the best from Sweden

      Hi Christer,

what you have there is the Saxon-Weimar Silver Merit Medal, version from 1892-1902 (Nr.2370 in Nimmergut-catalogue).

      best regards,

          Saxon-Weimar merit medal ?

Hi , does anybody know something about this medal?
I found one ant kai winklers sell page but that was OEK 2367
(with Carl Alexander looking much younger)

How many of these could have been awarded? and for what?
I searched around the net looking for info but nothing turned up yet
I am grateful for any info about this.

            Per Hessenthal/Schreiber....

            Silberne Anerkennungsmedaille

founded by GroƟherzog Carl Alexander on 25. Aug 1892 in association with the Verdienstmedaillen. These came in gold, silver, and bronze grades. Given for acknowledgement of commendable achievements and good service. (Regierungs-Blatt 1892 Nr.23). Awarded from 1892-1902. These Anerkennungsmedaillen were typically given to Germans who were not Sachsen-Weimar natives. The ribbon is 40mm wide, black center, with 6mm yellow side stripe and 5mm dark green edge stripe.

            Hope this is helpful!
