Iper/mega rare miniature Wiederholungsspange 1914 on a miniature!

I am pleased to present to you my latest acquisition for my EK miniatures collection: a 16 mm miniature of an IC 2nd class with "Eichenlaub 25" and a beautiful "Wiederholungsspange 1914"... quite something, isn't it?

    Ciao,

    Claudio

yeah, it is never seen a mini of the "Wiederholungsspange", except on ribbon-bars.

Wonderful miniature, Claudio. I am very envy.

    best,

Thank you Gerd for your compliments... You have a great miniature collection, too! I followed your postings with eagerness.

Here another EK 1870 with Eichenlaub from my collection but without Wiederholungsspange... for comparison. You just can't have it all... sometimes!

      Ciao,

      Claudio

Het Claudio. That is a great piece.

Did you guys get a look at the one sold by Detlev Niemann on Friday? Pretty interesting.

                  Hi Peter,

How big is your miniature? It seems that the oakleaves are really tiny and don't seem to be of silver. Usually the regulations said that the oakleaves shold be put as nearer as possible to the cross. Does your ribbon react to the UV light? It looks quite brand new...

                  Ciao,

                  Claudio

                    Hi Claudio.

I understand your reservations `cos I´m not content with
this piece either. The cross is 14.5mm and the cluster appr.
10x7mm. The ribbon doesn´t react on UV-light but I agree
it has a strange shade. As for the metal content I´m not
sure. I polished a portion of one of the rims and turn out
                    very silvery .

Whoever was fortunate enough to get the grouping sold by Niemann will be a very happy camper.....sigh.....

The detail on these minis is never as good as the full size EKs - however the lack of detail on Peter's is a bit troubling. Also, I'd have to agree with Claudio about the ribbon looking so new. I think it's even more of an issue than the actual EK.

                            Here's my mini EK/oakleaves set...
